The Port Authority of Santos (APS) will convene shipping companies, terminals, and coffee exporters to find joint logistical solutions and optimize the export process of the beans, representing 80% of Brazil's total production and shipped through the Port of Santos to 120 global destinations. APS President, Anderson Pomini, made this decision after a meeting with the Technical Director of the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé), Eduardo Heron, to discuss the sector's challenges in exporting the product. A task force will be formed to streamline coffee flow through the port.
Cecafé has been invited by APS to share its needs and challenges in the coffee export process, emphasizing the importance of greater technical collaboration among all parties involved. The goal is to align efforts to enhance export efficiency, considering Brazil's responsibility for a third of globally consumed coffee, with the majority passing through Santos. The meeting date with participants in the export chain will be determined in coordination with shipping companies, terminals, and exporters, as announced by APS Operations Director, Beto Mendes.
